Cranio-Sacral Therapy

One on one sessions with Mana

Biodynamic Cranio-Sacral Therapy is a beautifully simple and profound way to open up to our own body intelligence, our own capacity for healing, growth and integration. Each session is a way to actually open to this intelligence, to open and heal the different currents in our lives – including those we may not be all that aware of yet. With wellbeing at the core of the biodynamic approach, we can open to healing in surprising ways – ways that many find relaxing, deep and long-lasting.

“In many ways our bodies are an expression of an energised intelligence which is a profound organising principle of human life – and life itself.
This intelligence is present  – now – whatever wellness, illness, or distress – physical, emotional or spiritual – we may be experiencing.
In Cranio Sacral Therapy we work from a very deep listening to our underlying health and innate body intelligence which can then find a clearer expression of health and wellbeing.”

Whether we sense our particular challenges just now are more to do with our body, mind, spirit or emotions, these are all interconnected on some level, in many ways. Cranio-Sacral therapy sessions can help us re-discover this integration for ourselves.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy is also known as Cranio-Sacral Integration and Cranio-Sacral Balancing. All are centred on a biodynamic approach rather than a biomechanical one.

“In the biodynamic approach we have a huge orientation to health – we are not so interested in the condition, we don’t have a pathological mindset – our initial intention is to listen to the health, the underlying health of the body, and to relate to the power and vitality that is in the body tissues. That’s a very different approach than looking for what’s wrong, or looking for areas of restriction, and that’s all you see.
In the biodynamic approach we are very interested in forming a relationship with the underlying health. We listen for that. We are allowing the breath of life, the body intelligence to surface. And to bring about changes that are way more intrinsic that looking at the body in terms of restrictions, then going to the restrictions and having an intention of bringing about a change through using some specific intentions around that collection of tissues or fluids.
Also in the biodynamic approach, there is a much more detailed look at how primary respiration expresses in the body, a greater look at the deeper tides. There is a facilitation of these tides too, in the session.”

“The experience of integrated Cranio-Sacral Biodynamics is to become acquainted with the language of the body through the application of gentle touch: it is a subtle and profound healing form which assists the body’s innate ability for self adjustment, for realignment.

Integrated Cranio-Sacral Biodynamics is a multifaceted blend of applying work in the cranial field, fascial evaluation, osteopathic principles, quantum concepts, Taoist principles, spiritual consciousness, somatic emotional release, vibrational harmony and biodynamic principles.

Integrated Cranio-Sacral Biodynamics is a gentle yet an extremely powerful form of treatment which can be helpful to many people, infants and children and for most conditions – from minor aches and pains to severe and persistent dysfunctions: this technique can be used as a preventative health measure and for its ability to maintain a healthy immune system and sustain overall good health.

Treatments during times of bereavement and in the final days of life can act as a facilitation towards release and a sense of acceptance.

Most often during session time, a person lies or sits, fully clothed on a massage type table.”

“Stillness is the essence of the therapeutic relationship… As we listen in stillness the client’s system unconceals itself to us. In stillness, the story and its answers will unfold. From here we can perceive the health that is always present, even in the midst of dire circumstances, and truly be of service… The client’s patterns of experience, disturbance, an disease, are held in our perception of health and, from this dual awareness, healing processes naturally emerge.”
